I finished reading S. E. Reid’s marvelous novella, Ivy & Ixos on my phone a few days ago while receiving a Keytruda infusion, and I’m still pondering it. It is a story about an insatiably curious child and her troubled parents. About loss and desolation and forgiveness and healing. About the land and how our human relationships are sealed and wholed in our belonging to it.

With training, almost anyone can learn to write stories. To write myth is genuine gift. Reid is one of a few contemporary writers granted it.

Yes, by any means read this book, and hold your spirit lightly when you do.
